We lost our home on January 7, 2025 in the Palisades fire.
We stayed in Los Angeles for several months, at a friend’s in West Hollywood who was away during the week, then weekends with close friends in the Hollywood Hills. It helped to be with friends. My husband had applied for a sabbatical from his teaching job before the fire and we thought, let’s leave L.A. as planned and spend the time in France, where we have family and friends.
We are living in Paris, but we don’t like living in a city. As long as we’ve been together we’ve lived with a view of the ocean. We will look for a home by water, or we may return to L.A. to rebuild as it now seems a possibility. I miss my studio, I miss waking up to the sunrise, I miss the ocean. I miss the sky.
Good news: I am painting again.
